In police villages the elections take place on the second Monday in January, for the choice of three police trustees.

Some villages are not incorporated, and these are not entitled to any representative in the county council. They are usually called police villages, and are governed by three trustees, chosen by the people, one of whom is chosen inspecting trustee, or head of the council.
